When we make Duaa, we tend to get desperate for an answer. The answer, however, can lead down different roads!
“Whenever My servant asks of Me, tell him I am near. I answer the invocation of the invoker when he invokes Me; so, let them respond with obedience to Me, and let them believe in Me, perhaps they will be guided the right way.” (Quran 2:186)
The three roads your Duaa can lead down.
- Allah will answer immediately.
- Allah will postpone it for a better time and we’ll be rewarded for the patience.
- It will be rejected because Allah knows what’s best for us and it can help ward off harm in Dunya or in the hereafter.
The Messenger of Allah “saw” said, “Whenever a Muslim supplicates Allah, He accepts his supplication or averts any similar kind of trouble from him until he prays for something sinful or something that may break the ties of kinship.” Upon this, someone of the Companions said: “Then we shall supplicate plenty.” The Messenger of Allah “saw ” said, “Allah is more plentiful (in responding).” [At- Tirmidhi].
